How it works
How do the courses of the Virtual Academy of Sustainability (VAS) work?
1. For Students
The VAS learning offer is available free of charge to all students of the University of Bremen and the students of the VAN partner universities - regardless of the study program. The courses consist of video-based online lectures and are offered in the area of Studium Generale, subject additional studies, open studies or in the elective area of the respective university. The offer is addressed to all students who want to acquire expertise, knowledge and competencies related to climate and sustainability.
2. Register on the Learning Platform
The VAS courses are characterized by a high degree of flexibility in terms of time and location and usually conclude with an e-exam. You can join the courses at any time. Simply register for the course you have selected. There you will find further learning material, important information and a forum where you can discuss the learning content with your fellow students.
3. Selfpeaced Courses with Videos
The VAS courses offer the opportunity to learn independently at your own chosen pace. Work through all learning videos systematically with the slides and take notes to internalize the learning content more strongly. Solve the advanced exercises and record your learning progress. If you have any questions, please contact the team of the VAS. We will be happy to support you in all organizational matters.
4. Flexible Examination Dates
Each semester we offer several examination dates. Students of the University of Bremen use the dates offered in the test center of the University of Bremen. Please refer to the eGeneral Studies pages for guidance. Students of partner universities can find the respective examination dates at their own university here. You can register, deregister or change your registration up to one week before the exam. Book a place for your desired date on time via the learning platform.
5. Credit Points and Recognition of Exam Performance
The courses of the VAS allow the acquisition of 3 Credit Points each. The transfer of grades usually takes place directly via our contact person at your university. (Students of the University of Bremen please follow the procedure of eGeneral Studies).
