Partner Universities

The Virtual Academy of Sustainability supports you in providing your students with teaching in the spirit of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). We offer you a wide selection of video-based courses from renowned university lecturers with a sustainability focus, which you can use at your university.

The courses are ideally suited for integration into the Studium Generale, open studies or elective courses. However, they can of course also be embedded in compulsory modules or used to supplement your own teaching.

Since our foundation in 2011, numerous universities have already used the teaching offer of the Virtual Academy of Sustainability and thus more than 20,000 students have already been able to participate in ESD teaching events.

 Further Education

For all people interested in sustainability who are not students, there is also the possibility to complete our online courses within the framework of further education with a module certificate. This offer is made in cooperation with the Academy for Further Education (AfW) at the University of Bremen. Click here for the offer. 


How can I participate in an exam?
  1. Exam registrations are only possible with an active account - just use your existing OnCourse account.
  2. In the area of your personal profile (top right with the profile picture) you will find the field "Register for exams" and the complete exam schedule.
  3. Exam dates that are relevant for you are clearly marked as VAN-exams.
  4. Select your desired exam date at your own university and register independently. Attention: You may only participate in exam dates at yout own university, not at other locations.
  5. Under "My exam registrations" you will find your booked dates after successful registration.
