Virtual Academy of Sustainability
The Virtual Academy of Sustainability is an academic institution of the University of Bremen. It makes online courses on sustainability available to universities across Germany. The 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals guide our work.

Our history
The Virtual Academy of Sustainability (VAS) was launched in 2011 and funded by the German Federal Environmental Foundation (DBU). In 2016, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) took over the funding for this institution. The actual implementation was carried out by the Chair of Business Administration, in particular Sustainable Management at the University of Bremen in cooperation with the Center for Multimedia in Teaching and Learning (ZMML). Since 2021, the Virtual Academy of Sustainability is a scientific institution of the University of Bremen.
