Lection 2
Science Communication/ Risk Communication
This lecture mainly focuses on Science communication and the
transfer of information and knowledge between experts and non-experts (the
public sphere). Therein, three contemporary developments are extracted. Firstly,
formats and actors of science communication are diversifying. Secondly, Science communication is increasingly seen “as culture”, and last but not least, the presence of science in
public conversations is enhanced, since social conversations
around science have increased.
